If your willing to share a bathroom, the price CAN NOT be beat.
The base is pretty good. The NEX and the commissary are nice and have a wide variety of items. The hours are a little less than most bases though. I guess thats because they get less customers so there is no point to stay open that late. There is a small bowling alley and a bar on the base too but I never visited. There is also a liberty center with games and stuff. The Gateway Inn is fine but nothing special. Some are suites with a bedroom and living room and others are two separate rooms with a shared bathroom and kitchenette. My only real complaint is the distance from New Orleans, which they obviously can't do anything about. What should they do? Pick up the base and move it? It's about 15-30 minutes depending on traffic. The roads around the base are crap too.

RV park was very nice. Clean facilities and well-kept. Quiet except for the air show every once in awhile. Friendly staff. Be sure to bring documentation if you are not in the military. Call for info. Will definitely stay again.
Not bad for the price. I like the separation of the rooms. WiFi could be a lot strong. overall good
